On Dec 6, Kindergarten students participated in the Hour of Code, an exciting event that introduced them to the world of coding through play. With a free-flow format, children moved between classrooms, exploring a variety of engaging activities at their own pace.
The event allowed students to practice problem-solving and creativity through maze and pattern challenges, guiding Sphero robots through mazes, and enjoying interactive Sphero games. Blue Bots provided an opportunity for learning basic programming, as students directed the robots on fun tasks.
At the creative station, children used paper and craft materials to build their own robots, while others worked with LEGO to bring their imaginative ideas to life. iPads with beginner-friendly coding apps offered a digital introduction to coding concepts.
The Hour of Code was a hands-on experience that not only introduced coding but also fostered critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, and communication—essential 21st-century skills.
This memorable day of exploration and discovery sparked curiosity and laid the foundation for STEM learning in a fun and interactive way.
