Nursery-Kindergarten Outdoor Classroom Day on May 31, 2024, was a huge success! Our goals for the day included developing key life skills, improving physical and mental health, developing sensory and motor skills through outdoor activities, and encouraging social interaction and cooperation among peers.
Throughout the event, there were a variety of stations for students to explore. Students enjoyed ball games that promoted teamwork and physical skills, while sidewalk chalk allowed for creative expression. Students were engaged in water art projects and bike riding. The CVC Fly Swat game made learning fun, as students were practicing blending and reading.
Students were laughing while playing Simon Says and Boat is Sinking, which tested their listening skills and quick thinking. Students were exploring parachute games that encouraged group cooperation and required careful listening to instructions. Messy play with pretend cooking, water, and sand allows students to explore textures and imaginations. The bubble party and weaving provided endless sensory enjoyment.
Students had fun, were happily engaged, and learned throughout the day, making it an unforgettable experience for all.
