On Feb 24, our Kindergarten students had a paw-sitively delightful time celebrating Pets and Insects Day!
As part of our Term 2 Project-Based Learning (PBL) theme, “Animals,” this hands-on experience helped students connect familiar pets at home with the diverse world of animals beyond their daily lives.
This engaging event was made even more special by the incredible support of our parent volunteers, who brought in a variety of furry, scaly, and feathery friends for the children to meet up close. From playful dogs and colorful birds to gentle reptiles, our young learners had the opportunity to observe and interact with these animals, fostering empathy, curiosity, and respect for all living creatures.
We were also thrilled to welcome Pet Praying Mantis (https://www.facebook.com/share/12Gkr7Uhjvt/) Mr. Ice, whose passion for insects mesmerized our curious learners. With his fascinating collection of leaf insects, praying mantises, and grasshoppers, he introduced students to the remarkable world of insects, sparking curiosity and appreciation for the vital role these tiny creatures play in our ecosystem.
