A memorable and fun-filled Prefects Leadership Camp was held on campus recently. It was a two-day journey of team-building activities, collaborative games and self-reflection. The Prefects reflected on how being a student-leader provides each prefect the power to help improve the school as they fulfil their responsibilities.
The biggest improvement to this year’s overnight camp was the appointment of our Primary 5 and Primary 6 Student Council members as facilitators of the camp: Day One focused on team-building activities to improve communication, coordination and brainstorming. Day Two was all about health and presentation skills.
One of the highlights of the camp was the Principal’s tribute to our senior Primary 6 Prefects who will move on to Sixth Form. They reflected on how being a prefect has changed them as a student and how working with students and teachers has given them a wider view on how to treat everyone with respect and dignity.
There were laughter and tears as the event winded down to the tune of “Pomp and Circumstance”, a celebratory anthem, with the Prefects looking forward to next year’s leadership challenges, while looking back on all the successes they have achieved this year.
