SISB Thonburi: Sixth Form Loy Krathong Celebration

On Nov 15, our Sixth Form section proudly hosted the Loy Krathong Celebration. Loy Krathong is one of Thailand’s most cherished traditions, where people honour the Goddess of Water, seek forgiveness, and float their krathong to wash away bad luck and make wishes for a brighter future. This meaningful event aimed to deepen our students’ appreciation for Thai culture and its unique traditions.

The celebration featured captivating activities, including a traditional Thai dance performance of “Rabam Apsara”, followed by an exciting House Colour Dance Competition inspired by the vibrant theme “Isaan Pa Plearn”. Students also had the chance to explore regional dialects and immerse themselves in the rich culture of Isaan.

As part of their Thai lessons, students engaged in creative activities such as Thai poem writing, poster creation, and infographic design. The most outstanding works were recognised and awarded during the event, adding to the celebration’s festive atmosphere.

This memorable event allowed our students to gain both knowledge and joy as they celebrated the beauty of Thai traditions.
