On Feb 7, Singapore International School Thonburi Nursery-Kindergarten section celebrated Chinese New Year. The Chinese Department organised a rich array of Chinese cultural experience activities. The children came to school dressed in Chinese-style clothing, and decorated the classrooms with their teachers. They sampled dumplings and oranges and each child crafted their own dragon head craft to take home. We also saw some wonderful Chinese New Year performances, including a dragon dance.
The Chinese New Year celebration allows students to immerse themselves in Chinese culture, learning to respect cultural differences and become outstanding global citizens.
