On April 5, we had our Songkran festival in school. The Thai department had prepared a number of exciting activities that took place before we finished Term 2. In the morning, there was an opportunity for the school community to give alms to monks from one of the local temples. Each class offered dried foods and was followed by the water pouring ceremony to give respect to the teachers and administrators. There was a Songkran program where students showcased different performances both in the lower and upper primary sections.
The day wouldn’t be complete without water play so after participating in all the other exciting activities, everyone prepared for the massive water slide and began splashing water to one another as a sign of blessing and well wishes. Both students and teachers enjoyed the water play so much.
Here at SISB, this was one of the best events of the year!
