“Looking back at my time in school, it has really been a series of challenges, growth and unforgettable memories. One of the most challenging parts for me was time management. Having multiple subjects alongside extracurricular activities while maintaining a social life was difficult at first. There were nights where I did not get any sleep and moments when I felt like giving up. But over the years, I have learnt to stay organised, keep my priorities straight, and persist even when the situation becomes tough.
On the rewarding side, nothing compares to understanding something that was previously perceived as impossible. Whether it’s solving a difficult maths problem, nailing a good presentation, or just seeing improvements in grades after putting in the work. It was just awesome knowing that all the effort had paid off. Getting recognised by teachers and friends for my hard work is more rewarding than just doing it for its own sake.
As for memorable moments, there are so many that I’ll carry with me. School trips, laughing at jokes with my classmates, group projects that forged solid friendships, and even that awkward first-day-of-school experience: they all added to the uniqueness of my journey at SISB. As graduation is closing in, it feels almost bittersweet. I am excited about the future, but I know I am going to miss this place and the people who were a part of it.
The university counsellors were always there for me. They helped me organise deadlines and walked me through the requirements for each university and kept track of submission dates. Whenever I am confused, I can always reach out to them for support.
Focus on your AS Levels. Doing well at that stage will give you the motivation to continue your A Levels. If not, it can be discouraging and make the rest of your journey feel much harder. So start strong, it really makes a difference.”
