“SISB has shaped me into the person I am today. Through every stage, from the laughter-filled early years to the more complicated teenage ones, this community has taught me more than just academics. It has taught me how to understand people, how to grow, and how to face life with a little more courage each day.
I still remember little me, just dilly-dallying with my friends. We’d run around without a care in the world, late to class chasing after ice cream trucks, laughing during lessons, and even getting scolded together. It was chaotic, hilarious, and fun; a memory I’ll always hold on to. But there were also moments where I felt lost and distanced. Still, this community provided a safe space I can hold on to, and also the teachers and friends who stood by me.
I came here as one person but I am leaving as someone entirely different. I used to panic at the thought of a class presentation, afraid to step out of my comfort zone. But somewhere along the way, I started saying yes to random clubs, yes to opportunities that scared me, and yes to people who eventually became lifelong friends. And, amid all of that, I grew. In the end, the journey is about the company you keep, the people who walked beside me, the memories I made, and who I became through it all. I’m incredibly grateful for the beautiful “mess” this journey has been. My younger self would be proud.
Thank you to everyone who supported me throughout this journey, from the counsellors who patiently answered my endless questions, even during school breaks, and to the teachers who offered guidance and advice for university applications. And most importantly, to my family, for standing by me every step of the way.
Driven by passion and purpose, I hope to create something meaningful, reflecting the values I believe in.
Say yes, figure it out later. You’ll never discover what you are passionate about until you try. Join that club, even if it means doing it alone. Embrace the process, cherish the moments, and stay present with those around you. Live boldly, love the journey, lean into the chaos, it’s how the best memories are made.
