“Transferring to SISB in Grade 11 marked a significant turning point in my life. Studying abroad alone for the first time, I faced the challenge of quickly adapting to a new environment while managing the rigorous demands of the IB Diploma programme. The initial transition was tough, but the supportive atmosphere, kind-hearted people, and valuable experiences helped me grow immensely.
As an art major, balancing the academic pressure of IB while building a strong portfolio was an entirely new challenge. The IB system pushed me to my limits, and there were subjects where I struggled. However, my teachers’ unwavering expectations and guidance motivated me to keep improving. Their encouragement and expertise played a crucial role in my growth.
Over these two years, I have overcome the academic challenges of IB and countless essays. I am grateful for every moment of struggle, every obstacle that I overcame, and every step forward that I took. Most of all, I am thankful for my teachers, who not only had high expectations but also provided me with invaluable support and direction. SISB has shaped me into a stronger, more resilient individual, and I will always cherish the lessons and memories from this journey.
SISB has played a significant role in helping me obtain university offers. The art teachers at SISB provided me with a wealth of inspiration and guided me on how to better organise and present my portfolio. They also offered valuable feedback on my personal statements, helping me improve and refine my writing. I am especially grateful for the IB curriculum at SISB, which was not only engaging but also helped me develop critical thinking skills and better time management—both of which were essential during the university application process.
I hope I can be a person who is not forced to make a living, does not follow the crowd, and always believes firmly in himself. Everyone will have a bright future.
