Singapore International School Suvarnabhumi’s Joyful Songkran Celebration | April 4, 2025
Nursery-Kindergarten students embraced the spirit of Songkran with a lively and educational celebration that beautifully combined cultural learning and fun-filled activities!
The day began with a meaningful Merit Making Ceremony, where students expressed gratitude and respect by offering dry food and rice to nine Buddhist monks.
Students then rotated through five engaging stations, each highlighting different aspects of Thai culture and Songkran traditions:
Station 1 – Explored the history of Songkran and practised the Ramwong Dance.
Station 2 – Learnt about the cultural significance of elephants through interactive games and art.
Station 3 – Played traditional Thai games like Mon Son Pha and Ngu Kin Hang.
Station 4 – Took part in the water-pouring ritual, a symbol of respect and renewal.
Station 5 – Expressed creativity through Songkran-themed arts and crafts.
The celebration reached its peak with the exciting water-splashing activity! Students and teachers came together for a refreshing, joy-filled water play session, making unforgettable memories of laughter and togetherness.
This special event not only deepened students’ appreciation for Thai culture but also strengthened our school’s sense of community. Wishing everyone a Happy and Prosperous Songkran!
