Job Description

Administration and Policy

  • Works with the Principal to set policies and procedures, especially those concerning service to the whole school.
  • Plans and coordinates program for curriculum support in junction with teachers.
  • Maintains a current knowledge of the school education program.
  • Administers the budget for library purchases.
  • Updates handbooks on library policy.
  • Supervises overdue materials procedures.
  • Coordinates about books with other subject areas.
  • Services to Students and Staff.
  • Cooperatively plans and teaches research units with teachers in order to ensure effective implementation of the school program.
  • Teaches information literacy skills to students based on the library program scope and sequence.
  • Introduces and promotes various types of literature.
  • Gives reading guidance and encouragement to individual students.
  • Supervises students in the library.
  • Informs teachers of new materials relevant to the works.
  • Provides or coordinates in service sessions to update teaching staff on library resources technology or procedures.
  • Provides general reference services.
  • Promotes the library through displays and special events.

Collection

  • Builds and maintains a library collection of relevant print and non-print materials in order to support the curriculum.
  • Works with subject and year level teachers in selecting appropriate materials.
  • Builds and maintains a professional collection of interest to teachers.
  • Assists in supervising the annual library materials inventory.

Requirements

  • Holds a Bachelor’s degree in Library Science or related field.
  • Good in English and Thai.
  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Desire to serve library’s users community.
  • Ability to think analytically and develop systems, procedures, work flows.
  • Ability to exercise initiatives.
  • Computer literacy and knowledge of commercially available library software.
